AI Transparency Notice
This AI Transparency Notice explains how Jambo FM (92.7 FM), Shinyanga, Tanzania ("Jambo FM", "we", "us", or "our") may use artificial intelligence ("AI") and AI-assisted tools across our website, newsroom, verification, audio, moderation, search, analytics, and internal editorial workflows.
1. What We Mean by AI
AI refers to software systems that can generate, summarize, classify, translate, transcribe, search, recommend, analyze, or otherwise process information in ways that resemble human-language or pattern-recognition tasks. AI tools can be useful, but they can also make mistakes, omit context, reflect bias, or rely on incomplete information.
2. How We May Use AI
We may use AI or AI-assisted tools to support:
- Drafting, editing, headline suggestions, summaries, translations, and content formatting.
- Audio narration, transcription, show notes, captions, and accessibility support.
- Jambo Verify workflows, including claim triage, archive matching, source comparison, and image authenticity screening.
- Assistant chat features that help users find Jambo FM content, schedules, explanations, or story ideas.
- Security, spam detection, moderation support, analytics, search, recommendations, and operational efficiency.
3. AI-Generated or AI-Assisted Content
Some content, responses, descriptions, summaries, audio, images, verification notes, or other materials may be generated, summarized, translated, narrated, or assisted by AI. We aim to use AI to support human work, not to remove accountability.
Where AI materially assists content that is sensitive, public-interest, investigative, political, health-related, financial, legal, safety-related, or likely to affect people's rights or reputation, our expectation is that human review and source-checking should occur before publication or operational reliance.
4. Accuracy Limits
AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or unsuitable for a particular purpose. Users should not rely only on AI output for important decisions. Breaking news, public-interest claims, health, legal, financial, emergency, and safety information should be checked against official or trusted sources.
5. Human Oversight
AI tools operate under human oversight. Our team may review, edit, approve, reject, correct, or remove AI-assisted output. We may monitor AI performance, investigate errors, and adjust workflows when outputs are inaccurate, unsafe, biased, or inconsistent with our editorial standards.
6. Data Used With AI Tools
AI systems may process data you provide directly, such as prompts, messages, verification claims, uploaded images, comments, contact requests, or account-related information. They may also process technical and usage data, article data, archive data, and search results where needed to provide a feature.
We do not intentionally use unnecessary sensitive personal data with AI tools. Please avoid submitting private, confidential, or sensitive information unless it is necessary for the specific service you are requesting. Our handling of personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
7. Web Search and Third-Party Sources
Some AI-assisted features may use database search, web search, or third-party information sources. Search results and third-party content can be wrong, incomplete, outdated, or biased. Links and citations are provided to support review, not as a guarantee that a claim is true.
8. No Professional Advice
AI-assisted content is provided for general information, journalism, education, entertainment, or service support. It is not legal, medical, financial, investment, tax, emergency, security, or other professional advice. You should consult qualified professionals for decisions that require professional judgment.
9. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for evaluating AI-assisted information before relying on it, republishing it, or using it to make decisions. If you notice an AI-related error, misleading output, harmful result, or privacy concern, please contact us with the relevant page, conversation, claim, or content details.
10. Intellectual Property and AI-Assisted Output
Jambo FM content, including final published AI-assisted material, remains protected by copyright, trademark, database, and other rights owned by Jambo FM or our licensors unless stated otherwise. You may not copy, republish, commercially exploit, or redistribute our content except where permitted by law or with our permission.
11. Changes to This Notice
AI technology, regulation, and newsroom practice continue to evolve. We may update this notice when our AI tools, data practices, safeguards, or legal obligations change. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised date.
